Log laps — the heart of the system

In an event's "Build" tab, every session shows one row per car in the project. For each (session, car):

  1. Type the number of laps that car ran in that session.
  2. Press "Save".

That's it. ICRX attributes those laps to every part mounted on that car in that session, and converts them to kilometres using the track's lap length.

Mark the session "Completed"

Only sessions marked "Completed" count towards part wear. While a session is not completed, its laps are treated as provisional and don't add to any part's kilometres. This keeps half-entered data from polluting your wear numbers.

:::warning Remember to tick "Completed" The single most common "my part shows 0 km" cause is a session left uncompleted. Tick the box when the session ends and the km appear instantly. :::

Details worth knowing

  • Each car is logged independently within the same session.
  • If two people edit at once, the last save wins — nothing duplicates.
  • The laps field locks when the session is completed or the season is closed (see Troubleshooting).
  • If you use the Workbook module (pit-box stint logging), you can import its laps with the "↓ WB" button — but it's optional: typing the number is the primary flow.

What happens to the numbers

The exact math — including how rebuilds, initial km and manual adjustments interact — is published in How ICRX calculates mileage. The short version:

part km = laps × track lap length, summed over every completed session where the part was mounted. No hidden factors.
