Cars and chassis
In ICRX a car is the physical chassis. The chassis serial is a field on the car — edit it inline at the top of the car's page. A car's total km is a property of the chassis (laps × track length across completed sessions), independent of which parts are currently on it.
The Cars page
Cars in the sidebar shows one card per car in the current project: mounted-parts count, mileage, alert count, and per-category wear bars. Click a card to open the car; use the colour tile to change the car's colour. "New car" asks for a car number (unique within the project), an optional chassis serial, and a colour.
The sidebar's Cars entry also expands into a tree — car → category → part — with a printer icon per car that generates a spec sheet: a mechanic's verification checklist with every mounted part, its cycle km, life % and a tick box.
The car detail page
Open a car and you get four tabs:
- Mounted — every component currently on the car, grouped by category, each with its life status and mileage bar. Below it, "Life outlook" groups mounted parts by assembly and projects "≈N events to EOL" for each, and "Document custody" tracks the scrutineering paperwork (Technical Form, passport…): reference, expiry date and where the physical paper lives. Expired documents raise alarms.
- Alarms — everything that blocks or threatens this car within a horizon of 1–3 events: parts over limit ("Blocker"), parts projected to cross a limit ("At risk"), open inspection flags ("Inspect") and unresolved chassis findings ("Chassis").
- History — the in/out ledger: parts mounted and removed, assembly membership changes with km snapshots, and rebuilds.
- Chassis — a zone-by-zone condition register. Add findings with a severity (note / minor / major / structural) and walk them through the lifecycle open → monitored → repaired → validated. An unresolved major or structural finding shows a warning banner and raises a car alarm.
"Dossier PDF" in the header exports the sale/scrutineering pack: chassis identity, document custody register, and every mounted component with its binding life reading and seal.
Arrival mileage — the car's opening balance
When a car arrives (bought or transferred), use "Log arrival mileage" on the Mounted tab to declare, category by category, every part it came with — mounted parts, inventory spares, or brand-new serials — then enter one "Arrival odometer (km)" reading. ICRX fans it out as an opening adjustment per part, storing deltas so nothing is ever double-counted.
Two locks protect the baseline:
- "Mark as completed" freezes the sheet; "Unmark to edit" reverses it.
- Once the car has run any event, the baseline is locked for good — it is the historical starting point of every part on the car.
