Life limits: km, hours, events and expiry

A part can be limited by up to four dimensions at once. ICRX tracks all of them and the binding limit — the one that bites first — drives the part's status badge everywhere.

Set km/hours/events limits per category in Settings → Inventory → "Your components"; set the expiry date and target use on each part in its drawer.

Statuses

Every dimension maps to the same scale: "Fresh""Mid-life""Warning" (default from 75%) → "Critical" (from 90%) → "Over limit" (≥100%). Parts with no limits show "No EOL set". Warning/critical thresholds are editable per category.

The drawer's "Life limits" panel lists the non-km dimensions — hours, events and expiry — each with its status and percentage; km keeps its own bar and forecast in the body of the drawer. When one of those non-km dimensions is the binding one, a "binding: …" tag names it. The badge in the part header, the Inventory list, car pages and alerts all use the binding status — a part fresh on km but past its expiry date reads as over limit.

Logging hours

Hours don't accumulate from laps — they come from the ECU. In the "Life limits" panel, type the total "Hours now (ECU)" and press "Log". ICRX stores the delta, keeps a ledger of readings (last entries listed, deletable), and the hours row updates.

Events counting

Events are counted as distinct events where the part ran laps. Running three sessions in one weekend consumes one event.

Where limits surface

  • Part drawer header + "Life limits" panel.
  • Inventory rows, car Mounted tab, and the "Life outlook" card (per-assembly, with "≈N events to EOL" projections).
  • Dashboard "Operational alerts" and each car's Alarms tab: over-limit parts are "Blocker" ("do not run this part"), near-limit parts are "At risk".
