Search, shortcuts and the help assistant
Global search
The top-bar search finds parts (by serial, fuzzy), events (name or track) and cars (number or chassis) from two characters on. Enter opens the selection — parts open their drawer in place.
The command palette
⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) opens the palette from anywhere: jump to any page, run actions ("New part", "New car", switch theme), or find a part/event/car by typing. Whatever you've typed also appears as "Ask help: …" — selecting it sends the text straight to the help assistant.
The help assistant
The ? button in the top bar opens the assistant panel. Ask in English ("How do I mark a part rebuilt?"); it answers from this documentation, links the relevant pages, and when one screen is clearly the destination it offers a "Go to …" button that navigates there. If something isn't documented yet it says so honestly — those questions are logged so the docs grow where users actually need them.
The assistant answers in English only for now, while we get that experience right. This help centre stays fully bilingual — every page here exists in Spanish, and the Spanish version of the assistant follows once the English one is signed off.
How much can we ask?
It's included in your plan — 300 questions a month for your whole organization, which in practice no team gets close to. Two things make that go further than it sounds:
- Repeats are free. Once anyone has asked something, the answer is stored: the next person gets it instantly and it doesn't count against the allowance.
- The panel tells you where you stand. It shows the exact figure for your organization when you open it, and warns when fewer than 20 are left.
If you ever do run out, the counter resets on the 1st and this help centre keeps working exactly as normal in the meantime.
Keyboard shortcuts
Press ? for the cheatsheet (not while typing in a field). On the Workbook, ? opens that page's own shortcut list instead. The essentials:

The Workbook adds its own: l Sessions, s Snags, b Build, 1–9 tab jumps. The Box Timer show uses F (fullscreen) and T (today).
Notifications
The bell is your team's manual updates feed — anyone can post an Info / Update / Warning / Alert note for the whole org; dismissals are per-user. Operational alerts (parts over limit, inspections) deliberately do not go through the bell — they live on the Dashboard and each car's Alarms tab, and clear when the underlying problem is fixed.
